Seeking an experienced dietitian to cover established private practice clinic workload. Maternity leave cover, commencing September. Casual ~10hours per week with view for increased hours or ongoing work for the right candidate.

The postition is based across our Heidelberg and Essendon Clinics and is ideal for someone wanting to work in private practice without the hassles of running own business. Initial clinic sessions Fridays and alt Saturdays with additional consulting/projects optional with flexible hours.

Clinics are private billing clinics seeing a mix of EPC, NDIS, Private and clients of other funding bodies.

The successful applicant will be confident to consult with clients requiring advice and support with the following conditions:

• Diabetes, including type 1 diabetes, carbohydrate counting, insulin pump management and continuous glucose monitoring systems.
• Thyroid disorders, osteoporosis and other endocrine conditions
• Gastrointestinal conditions including IBS, IBD and Coeliac Disease
• Weight concerns
• Metabolic syndrome, PCOS, cardiovascular health and preventative healthcare

Essential Criteria

• Current Dietitians Australia membership and  APD status.
• Satisfactory National Police Check and eligible to work in Australia.
• Own professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
• Be willing to obtain Medicare provider number and register with relevant funding bodies.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with patient’s care providers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organisation and time management skills.
• Computer literacy skills.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience

Desirable Criteria

• Previous private practice experience including 1:1 counselling and telehealth
• Paediatric dietetics experience
• Post graduate training in diabetes education, Monash University Low FODMAP diet training or similar
