Behaviour Change for Dietitians

It is often said that dietitians are ‘the experts in nutrition’, and while I agree with this statement, myself and other dietitians are often frustrated that the traditional teachings and competencies outlined in our studies often overlook the significance of behaviour change – after all, we know that knowledge alone is often not enough. In fact, I believe our role as a dietitian is to support the clients we work with to modify their behaviour in a way that supports dietary change. This workshop will challenge our traditional scope of practice, and present a tasting plate of techniques and methods that dietitians can build into their day to day work to better support dietary change and optimise outcomes. This workshop is aims to help you identify where your future PD dollars can be invested in the area of behaviour change as you prepare to move beyond the traditional role of nutritional expert and information provider. Get in quick, because as I have said for a number of years now, if dietitians don’t start getting better at managing behaviour change to support dietary change, other professions will start claiming our ground.

Management of Eating Disorders for Dietitians in Private Practice

Do you work with people living with an eating disorder in the private practice/the outpatient setting. This boutique workshop is aimed at introductory to intermediate level dietitians wishing to build their knowledge, skills, and confidence in the area of eating disorder management. Developed to meet the needs of the audience and addressing many of the common questions I field from dietitians during mentoring and professional development sessions, this workshop will cover the key aspects and considerations of dietetic care in the private practice/outpatient setting. A series of open discussion case studies will help consolidate learnings from the workshop, with the option for participants to submit their own case studies to explore management options and group discussion. Please note, numbers for this small and intimate workshop are strictly limited to maximise engagement and interaction, so get in quick.
