Working with adult NDIS participants: A hospital & community perspective

About the webinar:

Adult NDIS participants can sometimes be a forgotten group and there are less resources available to dietitians working in this area compared to those working with paediatric participants. This webinar with Accredited Practising Dietitian, Shanelle Bailey, will use case studies to explore the role of inpatient and community dietitians working with adult NDIS participants. Shanelle will cover the hospital dietitian’s role in supporting and transitioning participants, practicalities around where to start when taking on an adult NDIS participant and challenges to consider along the way.

About the speaker:

Shanelle Bailey is an Australian Accredited Practising Dietitian with over 12 years of experience in clinical dietetics including acute, sub-acute, outpatients and community services, currently specializing in the area of progressive neurological diseases, predominantly motor neurone disease at Northern Health in Victoria. She was part of the roll out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in her current hospital catchment and has been servicing clients receiving home enteral nutrition support and/or registered with the NDIS for the past six years.
