At least 50% us have gut problems some of the time, and about 15% of people experience chronic gut issues. Good gut health, however, is about far more than the absence of symptoms – a healthy gut taps into many aspects of our physical and mental health, and our overall wellbeing. Excitingly, new research is shining the spotlight on the power of probiotics in the gut health space. In this podcast with Dr Joanna McMillan, we discuss what defines these transient visitors to the gut, the importance of using evidence-based strains for specific ailments and how much is enough. Joanna is an experienced TV presenter. She has worked on The Today Show for over 15 years, is a host for ABC’s science show Catalyst, and is a regular on radio and in print media. She is a TEDx and international keynote speaker and MC and is the founder of Get Lean, an online lifestyle change program. She has authored several books including her latest The Feel-Good Family Food Plan and audio book Gutfull.
