An update on infant nutrition
About the webinar:
In this highly requested webinar, we are joined by Paediatric Dietitian, Brigitte Corcoran, as well as Registered Nurse and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, Helen Elgar, to uncover the latest in infant nutrition. Helen will talk about the reality of breastfeeding, including common challenges and issues that may arise. Following on from this, Brigitte will discuss current strategies for improving breastfeeding rates, updates on infant formula and the dietitian’s role in working with carers of infants.
About the speakers:
Brigitte Corcoran has been a Paediatric Dietitian for over 25 years. Her Paediatric experience has been acquired across many healthcare settings, including both hospital and community, within Queensland and the United Kingdom. Brigitte is passionate about infant feeding, particularly breastfeeding. Brigitte is passionate about workforce development and education. She has helped to develop, and peer reviewed the Queensland Health ilearn Paediatric Nutrition for Dietitians program along with guidelines for the Modification of Infant and Paediatric Feeds. She currently coordinates and facilitates a Peer Supervision Program for Dietitians working in Paediatrics across Queensland.
Helen Elgar is a Registered Nurse and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant with over 20+ years’ experience of working in paediatrics in England and Australia. Helen has worked in a variety of ward-based settings, HDU and PICU, predominantly nursing the 0-2 years old age group. Helen is passionate about providing family-centred support to help educate and empower families to achieve their breastfeeding goals.
