About the speaker:

Beth Taylor, DCN, AP-RD, FAND, FASPEN, FCCM, is currently a research scientist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, prior to her current position she spent 18 years as the nutrition support specialist in the surgical/trauma intensive care unit. She is active member of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) as a current member of the program planning and physician engagement committees; and of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) having served as a past council member and on the ACCM Board of Regents. Beth has provided national and international lectures surrounding critical care nutrition and was one of the lead authors on the 2016 SCCM/ASPEN guidelines for Nutrition in the Critically Ill Patient. Her research interests include optimizing recovery of critically patients via optimal nutrition and rehabilitation therapies.

About the moderator:

Leslie Murray, RD, CNSC has 25 years of experience in acute and critical care nutrition. She currently practices in the Surgical Trauma ICU and serves on the Nutrition Support Team at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. Throughout her career at Duke, Leslie has been instrumental in advancing nutrition care practices, including the development of perioperative TPN protocols and, more recently, perioperative and periprocedure enteral nutrition protocols. She is passionate about improving medical nutrition therapy across the continuum of care. Leslie is also an experienced speaker, having presented on the topic of Critical Care Nutrition Support at both national and local conferences. She is dedicated to advancing the field by sharing evidence-based strategies and innovations with other clinicians and healthcare leaders.
