About the Role

Are you passionate about nutrition and health education? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people who experience food insecurity? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our NEST Program Coordinator position!

 

As a NEST Program Coordinator, your work will involve coordinating and delivering our NEST program, a six-week program that teaches adults how to cook and eat healthily on a tight budget. Travelling to different charitable agencies each week, you will be responsible for facilitating fun and interactive sessions that include nutrition and food literacy activities, practical cooking lessons, and always ending with a meal together.

 

This role is a 12 month fixed term parental leave cover based in Sydney.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Ability to research, analyse and apply current information on nutrition, food literacy, health education and environmental sustainability

• Experience engaging with individuals from low socio-economic areas and may have been exposed to a range of challenging circumstances, environments and situations

• Demonstrated ability to deliver small group training workshops

• Competent cookery skills and confident in a kitchen environment

• High level communication and interpersonal skills, including strong written, presentation and verbal skills across phone and email and in person.

• The ability to communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

• Experience or strong understanding of nutrition program evaluation – data collection and analysis

A successful candidate will have:

• Minimum degree qualification in Nutrition/Dietetics, or higher (essential)

• 2+ years related experience in field of nutrition/dietetics

• Strong proficiency and accuracy in Salesforce, Foodworks, and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (including reporting).

• Drivers licence, valid police check, valid working with children check
