Flexible Community & Clinical Role | Melbourne

Peninsula Dietetic Services (PDS) is a growing specialist dietetic practice providing evidence-based nutrition care across Melbourne. We are recognised for our expertise in gastrointestinal nutrition, enteral feeding, neurological conditions, malnutrition, and community-based care.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Accredited Practising Dietitian who is looking for a flexible contractor role with the opportunity to grow alongside our expanding business.

This role is ideal for an experienced clinician who enjoys working independently while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.

Initially, the role will commence at approximately 6 billable hours per week (around 1 day per week), with a strong referral pipeline and significant opportunity to increase hours over time.

You will primarily provide services to:

  • NDIS participants
  • Community-based clients
  • Gastroenterology patients
  • Individuals requiring enteral feeding support
  • Clients experiencing malnutrition or complex nutrition needs
  • People living with neurological conditions, including Motor Neurone Disease (MND)

Services may be delivered through:

  • Home visits
  • Telehealth consultations
  • Specialist gastroenterology clinics
  • Community settings

As our practice grows, there may also be opportunities to:

  • Deliver nutrition education sessions
  • Provide clinic-based consulting
  • Develop specialist areas of interest

While this is an autonomous role, you won’t be working alone.

You enjoy building strong relationships with clients, support coordinators, healthcare providers and families, and can confidently manage your own caseload.


Essential Criteria

  • Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD)
  • Eligible for Medicare provider number
  • PEG Credentialed
  • Experience managing malnutrition
  • Experience working with neurological conditions (including MND)
  • Experience in gastroenterology nutrition
  • Current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance
  • Current Police check
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Reliable vehicle for community visits

Highly Desirable

  • Experience working with NDIS participants
  • Experience completing NDIS reports and reviews
  • Knowledge of disability support systems
  • Experience with IBS, IBD, coeliac disease and complex gastrointestinal conditions
  • Experience liaising with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
