About the webinar:

Women face distinct metabolic health shifts across their lifespan, often navigating whole-body changes that affect metabolism, weight, insulin sensitivity, and even hair loss. Whether experiencing PMOS (formerly PCOS) or perimenopause and menopause, many are increasingly seeking guidance that spans nutrition interventions, GLP-1s, and/or hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Dietitians are uniquely positioned to support targeted and inclusive care, as the bridge between food, culture, and clinical skill. Join Tamara Melton, MS, RDN, LD, and Samaria Garrett, MS, RDN, LDN, as they walk through what the dietitian’s role looks like in practice with case studies, counseling strategies, and culturally responsive care.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Describe the metabolic changes women experience in midlife (e.g., perimenopause, menopause, and PMOS) and the nutrition interventions that support them
  • Discuss the role of GLP-1 medications and HRTs, including access, interdisciplinary communication, and shared decision-making
  • Explain how nutrient pathways and systemic metabolic conditions (e.g., insulin resistance and PMOS) impact hair health
  • Translate hair and scalp NFPE findings into nutrition interventions for underlying deficiencies or metabolic conditions
  • Apply weight-inclusive, culturally relevant counseling strategies that honor diverse beliefs, food traditions, and lived experiences
