About the webinar:
Are plant-based and animal-based proteins comparable? In this upcoming Lunch and Learn, supported by v2food, we explore how to hero plant foods to benefit both human and planetary health. With a focus on new research from CSIRO on protein digestibility and quality, Food Scientist Dr Lisa Ronquest-Ross and Accredited Practising Dietitian Teri Lichtenstein will empower you with culinary inspiration for incorporating plant-based protein into a flexitarian eating pattern. Lisa and Teri will also share plenty of practical tips for addressing common barriers to plant-based eating, including taste, texture and satiety.
About the sponsor:
v2food was formed in 2019 as a spin-out from the CSIRO with a mission to feed the planet in a way that helps take care of it. Founded with a commitment to help feed the world’s rapidly growing population by creating a version 2 of food, their plant-based protein products were created to appeal to consumers of all kinds. v2food has since grown to become Australia’s leading plant-based protein brand. Its range of products including burgers, mince, sausages and more, can be found in supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and homes across the country. Click here to learn more.
About the speakers:

Dr Lisa Ronquest-Ross is a passionate Food Scientist with extensive global R&D experience working for a variety of multinationals that include Unilever, Mars and Woolworths. Before joining v2food in Australia, Lisa was the R&D Executive for MANE Flavours leading their Innovation Centre and R&D program for Sub-Saharan Africa based in Cape Town. Lisa is currently Chief Science Officer where she is responsible for developing, leading, and translating v2food’s science research strategy into breakthrough products that help unlock barriers to plant-based protein adoption. Lisa has a particular passion for ensuring the application of science and technology is meaningful for both people and planet.

As an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist, Teri Lichtenstein knows that food plays a critical role in overall health and she also believes that food is more than just the sum of the nutrients it provides. Her consulting work, including with v2food, considers the evolving global dietary guidelines that recommend increased consumption of plant-based foods for optimal health, along with the simultaneously growing demand for protein alternatives that satisfy consumers’ desires for similar eating experiences to conventional animal protein. Providing healthy, nutritious and sustainable foods for the long term is a goal that is aligned with both Teri’s professional and personal views.
