About the webinar:
Cancer care is evolving, and so is our approach to nutrition. But how do the latest evidence and advancements translate into practical care for the everyday patient? In this webinar, senior dietitians Jenelle Loeliger and Nina Axelsen from The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre explore what’s novel and unique in cancer nutrition care for adolescents and young adults, middle-aged adults, and older people. Drawing on real-world case studies, they’ll unpack how nutrition needs and challenges differ across the lifespan, and share practical, evidence-based strategies to enhance care for patients commonly seen in hospital and community settings.
About the speakers:

Jenelle Loeliger is an Advanced APD and Joint Manager of Nutrition and Speech Pathology at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. With over 20 years’ experience as a clinician, health service leader and researcher, she champions access to high-quality, evidence-based nutrition care. Jenelle leads the Victorian Cancer Malnutrition Collaborative (VCMC), chairs the COSA Nutrition Group, and holds Honorary Fellow roles at Deakin University and the University of Melbourne. She is currently completing a PhD on cancer nutrition models of care.

Nina Axelsen is an APD with over nine years of clinical experience, primarily in oncology and palliative care across NSW and Victoria. At Peter Mac, she leads the colorectal and gynaecology nutrition teams and has expertise in surgical oncology, pelvic dysfunction post-treatment and parenteral nutrition. Nina is also a student educator and has led the development of PN services at Peter Mac. She is currently working on a study exploring nutritional outcomes in adolescents and young adults with cancer.
