The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can be tricky for healthcare professionals to navigate – especially for dietitians and their tube fed patients. Tune into this engaging conversation with community dietitian Lina Breik to learn about her journey of becoming a registered NDIS provider, including its challenges and benefits. Lina shares her advice for tube fed referrals, including the number of dietetic hours required, equipment needed and how to incorporate nursing care. Biography

Lina Breik (Accredited Practicing Dietitian) is the Founder of and Lead Specialist dietitian at Tube Dietitian. Tube Dietitian aims to bridge the gap between hospital and home for people with feeding tubes with an on call experienced dietitian service in the community. In March 2020, Tube Dietitian became a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Registered Provider and since then has looked after more than 45 patients on home enteral nutrition (HEN). In addition to Tube Dietitian, Lina will be commencing a PhD which aims to explore the experiences of adults living with a feeding tube and their carers, and describe the effectiveness of existing HEN care delivery systems in Victoria.
