Ian is a career communications and media professional with over 30 years’ experience working in government, tertiary education, corporate and media industries around Australia.

Ian is currently employed as Senior Media and Political Advisor to Queensland Premier Campbell Newman and has worked in a similar role previously with Queensland health Minister Lawrence Springborg.

Ian is one of Australia’s most experienced and versatile communications operatives, best known as presenter and reporter with ABC TV News, where he worked between 1990 and 2007 in a wide variety of roles, including Political Reporter, Network Editor, Olympics Reporter and Sports Presenter/Reporter.

He spent over 2 ½ years at QUT as Media Manager, working with the Vice-Chancellor, Executive Deans and senior academics in working with the media. Ian is also a published author and since 2008 has been broadcast anchor and lead commentator for the Gold Coast Airport Marathon.

He has been a regular news and current affairs panellist on 612 ABC Radio from 2012-2014.
