Conversations with clients around eating behaviours – and their impact on well-being – can be tricky.
Quite often, when a client brings one food-related issue to you for counsel, it becomes obvious that there are other, deep-rooted issues at play. Think: emotional eating. Stress eating. Binge eating.
For many of these clients, the way out seems to be finding the “right” diet. “Weight loss will cure everything,” they may be thinking. Or, “If I can only get my eating under control, everything will be fine.” What’s more, with the increase of misinformation about nutrition in the media, clients are becoming even more confused about what constitutes healthy eating.
So how do you handle these complex, often distressing conversations with confidence?
And – just as importantly – how do you help clients begin a new relationship with food that’s not stressful?
Introducing Your Guide: Fiona Sutherland
