This webinar will introduce ethics, distinguish ethics from law, present the ethical principles of non-maleficense, beneficence, autonomy and justice, and then apply these principles in at least three case studies.

Annalynn Skipper Ph.D., R.D., FADA, CNSC is a devoted advocate of advanced nutrition practice. She has more than two decades of experience as a nutrition support dietitian at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago where she directed a seven member multidisciplinary nutrition support team. Annalynn was an early advocate of specialty dietitian certification and became the second dietitian to earn the CNSD when that certification was developed.
Annalynn has authored dozens of original research and practice papers including her award winning research describing advanced dietetics practice. She has directed research projects investigating calcium phosphorus ratios in parenteral formulas, the incidence and prevention of refeeding hypophosphatemia and the outcomes for patients whose parenteral nutrition orders were written by RDs or MDs. She has edited and authored books on nutrition support, advanced medical nutrition therapy practice and order writing privileges.
An advocate for dietitians, she has served in many volunteer positions including a terms on ASPEN’s Board of Directors and the editorial boards of the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Nutrition in Clinical Practice. She has also served the Institute of Medicine, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and was elected chair of the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She has consulted with some of the nation’s leading hospitals and served as an expert witness in a dozen legal matters. Annalynn lives in Oak Park, Illinois and works as a member of the Health and Science group at the American Medical Association.
