About the speakers:

Morgan Pankhurst is a PhD candidate with the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University and an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Her project over the past three years was focussed on food service satisfaction in Aged Care Homes. Morgan began working with the Maggie Beer Foundation in 2018 to support their “Create an Appetite for Life” workshops which aim to upskill cooks and chefs working in aged care. She is also on the national board of the Institute of Hospitality in HealthCare, a not-for-profit organisation that supports individuals working in health and aged care industries.

 

 

 

 

Amy White is currently a Hotel service Manager with Helping Hand aged care. Amy has been a chef for 30 years, with 22 of those years in Aged care. Amy is passionate about food and all people receiving good quality food at the end of life. She takes a food first approach to nutrition and believe everyone is entitled to good quality and tasting food regardless of texture and diet type.

 

 

 

 

 

Angela Hicks began her culinary journey in her grandma’s kitchen. She graduated as apprentice chef from William Angliss in 1990 and has been working in hospitality for thirty-six years. Her career began in London where she worked at Ladbroke’s Casinos. Angela then worked across the Mornington Peninsula cooking and managing numerous restaurants. She received a scholarship in 2015 to Maggie Beer Foundation Inaugural Masterclass and since then has been involved and inspired by the foundation to raise standards of food in aged care. Angela is currently the Managing Chef at Calvary Ryesands Aged Care Homes across the Mornington Peninsula and has been in this role for the past twelve years.
