a2 Milk™ continues to be controversial with some claiming it to be nothing more than a premium milk, while others claim to truly feel a difference compared to regular milk. This session reviews the science to date and considers the questions that need to be answered in future research.

Learning Objectives

To understand the science of beta-caseins, the current research on beta-casein science and a2 Milk™ and be able to give an informed recommendation to clients regarding the use of a2 Milk™ and associated products.

To review the major outcomes of the closed expert meeting on beta-casein science held in Melbourne on 16th June 2016 called “A1 and A2 beta-casein: searching for common ground and moving the science forward”, which was presided by Professor Andy Sinclair of Nutrition Society of Australia and funded by the a2 Milk Company (Australia) Pty Ltd.
