Facilities and resources
Nutrition and dietetics teaching will be conducted in the new $150 million Griffith Health Centre which is due for completion in early 2013. The health centre will operate in tandem with the new 750-bed Gold Coast University Hospital, creating a health hub with a dedicated focus on study, research and employment. This facility has a large teaching kitchen for the study of food science and therapeutic diet preparation.
There are also specific areas for you to develop skills in nutrition assessment and patient counselling. The nutrition and dietetics clinic will operate from the Griffith Health Centre and will offer services to members of the community. You will have the opportunity to develop real-world skills in this environment.
