CELEBRITY chef Jamie Oliver will bring the first Ministry of Food pop-up kitchen to Adelaide later this year, in a huge coup for the Colonnades Shopping Centre.

A bid by the Onkaparinga Council and the shopping centre had been selected as the winner from 170 applications from all over Australia.

The shopping centre will host the kitchen for 12 months. It will include hands-on cooking classes based on Mr Oliver’s belief about cooking healthy meals from scratch.

Onkaparinga mayor Lorraine Rosenberg said “It means we can expand on the great work that we have been doing with our schools about healthy eating, our active lifestyle work we have been doing, and it just means a really big boost for our region internationally.”
