What motivated you to become a dietitian?
I think my fascination with science, business and working one-on-one with people is what initially sparked my interest. When I started my Masters program, I came in thinking: the more science I knew = the more people I could help. However, I can now appreciate how complex nutrition, and indeed individuals, can be and that science (as much as I love research) is only one part of the puzzle. In the ̶short” time I’ve been in the real world, I have developed a true appreciation of how business skills and the ability to communicate plays a huge role in what we do as dietitians.
What do you most enjoy about your role?
The variety of responsibilities I have at DC keeps me on my toes, yet I feel like I am in my element! To name a few: learning about & using new technologies, problem-solving, keeping up with research, connecting with leaders and working toward a shared vision.
