Tell me a little bit about yourself?
I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist. I studied a Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) and a Master of Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) at the University of Wollongong.
I truly believe in taking care of our bodies by nourishing it with wholefoods and live by the mantra “take care of your body it’s the only place you have to live – Jim Rohn”. Aside from promoting eating delicious wholefoods I am also passionate about communicating accurate nutrition messages.
This fits in perfectly with my role as Nutrition Content Writer for Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation (12WBT). Within this role I encourage members to make the move away from pre-packaged foods and start incorporating natural, whole food ingredients into their lifestyle. I also contribute regularly to the 12WBT blog to help set the record straight on nutrition facts and fiction.
Describe a typical day at work for you.
Everyday is different, which makes it so interesting. I could be developing the nutrition plans that appear on the website, editing new recipes to be released, researching the latest nutrition information, writing blog posts, or brainstorming and testing out ideas for new product development or site improvements.
What makes your job so enjoyable and what is the most rewarding aspect?
I love that my job allows me to make a difference to people’s health and wellbeing. Hearing about people’s stories and what they have achieved following 12WBT is really inspiring and is definitely the most rewarding aspect.
Why did you want to become a dietitian?
I grew up in a pretty healthy household and have always been fascinated with food. I was also interested in medicine so combining the two and becoming a dietitian seemed like my perfect job. I wanted to make a difference to people’s health and wellbeing by encourage them to make healthy choices.
