Through effective translation of medical, nutrition and health care knowledge, the Medical Affairs Manager will facilitate demand generation and create business opportunities whilst ensuring safe and effective positioning of our products and services focusing on our Core Milks and Kids products (Karicare, Aptamil and AptaGrow). You will be a reliable source, managing one direct report whilst acting as a mentor to the wider team.
Responsibilities of the Medical Affairs Manager include (but are not limited to)
- Drive the value of the Medical Affairs and Market Access team as being a key success factor to meet business objectives and ensure credibility by displaying scientific thought leadership
- Develop content, claims and other scientific documents that are based on current, published evidence to ensure credibility and appropriate substantiation for the purpose they are intended in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- Create high quality, engaging and innovative education plans that are in-line with the business strategy and can be leveraged on a number of platforms including digital
- Lead strategic events such as round table, conferences and other HCP and KOL engagements
- Create and execute an effective external stakeholder engagement plan including identifying and profiling KOL’s
- Drive a research culture that includes real world evidence and evaluation of research proposals to make effective commercial decisions
- Management of the Medical Affairs and Market Access associated budgets
- Ensuring activities of the Medical Affairs and Market Access team are compliant against all internal and external guidelines
- Effectively manage one direct report including development conversations and training plans whilst acting as a mentor to the wider team members
This role can be based at our head office in Sydney or working fully remote in Melbourne.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need to be accountable and decisive to make business decisions based on your scientific knowledge whilst considering the business strategy and commercial objectives. You will be an effective leader to drive results from the wider team whilst using your effective relationship and collaboration skills to bring internal and external stakeholders on the journey identifying any potential obstacles or opportunities.Ideally you will have
- 5 years demonstrable experience in a healthcare, nutrition, or research setting
- Degree qualified in Nutrition or Dietetics with further postgraduate study a bonus
- Previous experience leading a small team, providing support and opportunities to develop internal talent is advantageous
- Able to translate nutritional scientific knowledge effectively to various stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in an agile way with competing priorities
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
