The Medical Affairs Associate will primarily support the Baby Care Nutrition (BNC) portfolio working closely with ANZ Marketing, Sales, Translational Science and Regulatory teams. The role will focus on optimising our clinical substantiation and messaging versus our competitors, building strong working relationships with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and KOLs, and supporting clinical knowledge to the sales and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Provide current paediatric and adult clinical knowledge to support the business strategy,
  • Conduct regular detailed scientific and clinical practice reviews across Paediatric Nutrition (minor adult nutrition component- Nutra+) to support the HCP/Consumer marketing and sales teams. (e.g. industry reviews, H&H product/ingredient evidence reviews, ANZ in-market competitor product/ingredient evidence reviews, regulatory landscape reviews, NPD evidence-based feasibility reviews),
  • Work with HCP Marketing in developing, implementing and evaluating ANZ H&H education events,
  • Lead in developing, implementing and evaluating a local ANZ Expert KOL strategic development plan (rising stars to current leaders in field),
  • Build trusted relationships with HCPs working with sales and marketing to incorporate clinical insights to business plans,
  • Identify ANZ primary and acute care centres for strategic partnerships,
  • Identify opportunities and secure commitment to enhance the evidence base for our products among HCPs and consumers,
  • Provide training and technical support to the Field Sales team, including developing training modules (in conjunction with HCP Marketing team),
  • Apply analytical skills to interpret nutritional tables and extract key messages from clinical papers to support inquiries,
  • Support H&H Customer Care Team as H&H scientific and clinical expert for Paediatric Nutrition.

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Healthcare Professionals,
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret published papers and convert key insights into supporting messages for commercial teams (e.g. sales & marketing),
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate HCP education events,
  • Dietetic qualification with experience in infant health preferred (degree in the nutrition /medical field a prerequisite),
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role,
  • Ability to effectively interpret scientific literature into functional insights for other H&H business areas (e.g. marketing, sales, regulatory, product development),
  • Experience working with field teams desirable,
  • Ability to provide effective nutrition training to internal team members,
  • Ability to effectively present evidence-based education to HCPs,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and networking skills.
