We’re looking for an ambitious health coach to join one of the most exciting health-tech startups from Europe here in Australia. The ideal candidate should have a passion for improving health and wellbeing, strong critical thinking skills, be competent at using technology and happy to work at a laptop all day. You must also be either a Registered Nutritionist or Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD).

The role will be working with the health coaching team based in Australia and New Zealand and the full-time position will be a remote position (working from home). However, please note that we are currently taking applications in Australia only.

The Company

Obesity has become a global epidemic; Lifestyle diseases, such as type 2 diabetes or obesity comorbidities, cost the Australian economy $14 billion and $8.6 billion (2011-12) retrospectively. What’s shocking is most of this is preventable – through sustained lifestyle and habit change.

Enter Second Nature.

We’re here to help people take control of their health. By bringing together behavioural science, technology, and incredible people, our grand mission is to eradicate the global epidemic of chronic lifestyle diseases once and for all.

Our digital habit change program – delivered digitally through mobile and web apps – helps people to improve their lifestyle, lose weight, and ultimately reduce their risk for conditions such as type 2 diabetes.

We’re also one of the few consumer health brands that are also actively commissioned by the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK (for us, it’s to help people living with type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes).

Second Nature launched in Australia in October 2019 and we’ve had over 200 users participate in the program since. We have big ambitions to grow and we’re looking for the right individual to play a key part in that journey.

Our Stage:

We have just closed our Series A fundraising (Dec 2019): https://techcrunch.com/2020/02/18/noom-competitor-ourpath-rebrands-as-second-nature-raises-10m-series-a/

We have a global team of 95 people, which will continue to expand over the coming years.

The Role

One of the critical components of the Second Nature program is the health coach that supports and guides our users through the lifestyle changes they need to make. All of the health coaching is delivered digitally, so there is no face-to-face interaction. This allows regular contact with users so you can help support them every step along the way, as well as an opportunity to manage and support a larger user base. Areas that the health coach provides support and guidance on are:

  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Sleep
  • Stress
  • Mindset

Now that we are growing in size, we are looking to hire two new health coaches to help deliver our program. The role will be focused on coaching users going through the Second Nature program (3-month core program and beyond), via group chat and private, one-to-one chat.

This position will be a remote (home) based position.
