The systemic nature of psoriasis has wide-reaching impacts on health beyond the skin and/or joints. To effectively manage comorbidities and improve patients’ quality of life, collaboration across the healthcare continuum is essential.

  • 30% of patients with psoriasis will develop psoriatic arthritis
  • 15% of patients with psoriasis have undiagnosed psoriatic arthritis
  • 43% higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease in patients with psoriatic arthritis
  • Insulin resistance, obesity, metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes are all more common
  • Significantly increased risk for IBD, uveitis, anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation
